We get down below 0 out here in Central Oregon in December and January. My bikes are kept in the shop with battery tenders attached to both, and a full tank of non ethanol premium. I may throw a couple of blankets over them when it gets really cold, but on occasion about every two weeks or so through winter, I will start them and run them to warm up and dry out everything and they get through it just fine.

I know this isn't really on point, but I break out the cold we riding gear. Course usually only have to battle a few flurries every now and then; not snow drifts.
