Tire Time

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

I know I sound like Gomer Pyle.............LOL

I just replace my tires after having 15000 miles on the stock Bridgestones. I replace them with the recommendation from Trip, Metzlers all the way around. All I can say is what a difference. My Nad handles curves and turns like a sport bike. No more correcting in tight twisties in the hill country.

I am sold.

Thanks for the advice.

Rocky

Okay...okay.....I put metzs on another bike I used to have and loved them. Are they avial in the size for the '05 Nomad? Sounds like that is what I want to go with. I've got 13000+ on the stock bridge no much long on the back tire.

Well, got the ME880 180/70R-16 mounted today on the rear of my 1600...only got to ride about 20-25 miles on it but....I can tell you that it "feels" like I am going faster at X speed on the speedometer vs before...noticeable to me..maybe imagination. I will be checking it out for the real variance now ASAP. The ride is very nice...love radial as much as I thought I would.

Funny, the guys at the local Kawa shop were intrigued with the choice to go to that size tire...they had never done that on a Nomad before. They were saying are you sure you want that fat tire on a Nomad??? They mostly deal in crotch-rockets though. After it was on, they were all sold on the idea!

I cant wait to get to the twisties with it. Watch that new rubber too...came out of the lot and cranked down on the throttle those new shoes can be slippery for a little while.

Unwind2, I got mine in 2 days for the rear and it came through Drag Specialties like a lot do....did not check on the front tire availability right now though.

I'm looking forward to putting on the ME880's. I just found a new road about 20 miles away from my house that I had never been on before. 18 miles of perfectly banked S curves with posted speeds from 20-40 mph. I went through them at 35-50 but I'm sure the handling would be a lot better with the metzelers. Still haven't scraped floorboards.
