Doctor's "OK" to ride again... so I have...

Saw the doctor Friday morning... got permission to ride my two-wheels again (for now).

Nearly two-years struggling with a hurt back... and extremely limited two-wheel riding.

Treatments are working somewhat to help relieve the pain... but more to go yet.

The great thing is the doctor rides himself... so he knew I have been biting at the bit to ride again.

So with his permission to ride; I left work early Friday and took-off until sunset on my bike. Got up early today and took-off again. Stopped-by a motorcycle rally (which quite a sight for sore-eyes -- to say the least); then took-off again.

Finally ended the ride a short while ago for now. May take-off later yet this evening; but for certain tomorrow is going to be another all-day ride.

Feels good to get to ride two wheels again. It has been far too long for me.

I know it's a great feeling to hear the Doc say those words, although I cheated and rode a month ahead. Take it easy and enjoy the freedom Greg. Be safe.

I appreciate it guys... more than you know.

Gibby, I'll be saddled-up for our Labor-Day ride for certain. Looking forward to it.

I have to admit... I was fairly tentative riding at first. Riding had it moments where it felt unfamiliar to me... I didn't like the feeling.

To some degree... it isn't like "riding a bike" as they say. You still have to reaquaint yourself to the skills that have become rusted, so to speak.

Overall though, I handled it fine. I went slower than I normally would have, and rode alone so as not to affect anyone else's day.

I never once forgot to put my feet down or pull the clutch... LOL! That, I thought for sure would happen at least once!

Regarding power, the HD has a lot more in the low-end than the Spyder; but the Spyder certainly has more "pep" overall once you are rolling. Two completely different riding requirements for both.

Good news to hear. Glad you are able to be riding again. Just don't try to do too much until you get used to it again.

Good to hear you are healing fairly well.
If you had forgotten to put your feet down I don't think that would have helped your back at all.
Keep track of those tie down straps

You need to put some miles on that Harley to restore the man points you lost riding the spyder.

Greg,

Good to hear that you are back in the 2 wheel saddle. Last year I dislocated a rib before we rode to Cresent City. Kept up on the pain killers during the ride. Worst part was trying to sleep.
