Road trip 2 up any advice

Heading on a road trip starting in Winslow Arizona. First stop Kanab Utah then to Yosemite Cali then Lake Tahoe then make our way to the Pacific Coast and ride highway 1 for awhile then head back to Arizona. I'm riding 2 up with my wife which will be our first long road trip any advice on tire pressure places to check out and advice on riding 2 up. I have a 2009 Vulcan 1700 Classic bought it last year with 1 mile on it now has 3500 on it. Tire still look good, had service at 900 miles so I hope I'm still OK to ride that many miles. Any thoughts? leaving within the week and taking about 6 days to see it all.
Thanks

You may already know this, but US-89 is closed from Bitter Springs to Page due to road damage. Turn off on US-89A at Bitter Springs and it will take you near Jacob Lake, then through Fredonia and right into Kanab. It's more scenic than going through Page, anyway. Have a great trip and ride safe.

If you are planning on going west on I80 after leaving tahoe, Highway 20 to 49 through nevada city and grass valley is beautiful. A little twisty on 20, not bad. My wife and I just rode up that way and around tahoe last sunday. I always try to stay off the interstate, when i am "just" going for a ride. Nevada city is fun place to stop, and so is grass valley. You can also take 20 out of grass valley and continue west and go around clear lake to get to the coast and highway 1. Always see a lot of bikes out that way. I use this route to go to forte bragg. Haven't ridden to the coast in quite a while though.

Thanks for that. I've been that way before last year before the road sank. Your right it's a beautiful ride through Jacob Lake. Went through last year in the dark so hope to see it in the daylight this time. Thanks for the info. Keep on riding!!

Well, I ride 2 up a bit. When she needs to take a break, take a break. Don't push it. When riding one up I push it rather than take time to see the sites. With the wife it is more slow down and enjoy.

Hopefully you have a communication system. It really helps.

If you serviced the bike at 900miles and you have 3500 on it now, might be a good idea to service it before you take off since it will be due soon any way.
