New Tires - Air Pressure

Thanks to all who provided good info on new tires. I had my Avon Cobras installed yesterday and they look and feel great.

While reading post and PMs about air pressure in the Cobras I did not see the follow:

http://www.avonmoto.com/tech/tire-pressure-guidelines

Elvis from CA passed it on to me and I thought some of you who run Cobras might like to see it.

I called the toll free number on the above Avon site and inquired as to what air pressure they would recommend for Cobras on a Nomad. They told me they could not recommend any air pressure setting for the Nomad.

New Tires - Air Pressure

i'm running 38 and 40...

As i was on the ground changing the oil and rear final drive oil I notice my Avon Cobras are cupping...they are weight balanced....and I have 10K on them....front and rear both still have GOOD treadlife left,,,,,

I still like the tire, regardless of the cupping...will try Dynabeads next time....

Did you go with the 150 on the front and the 180 on the rear? I didn't see where you mentioned the size you had installed. I run 40 in my front Dunlop Elite 3 and 41 in the rear Dunlop Elite 3.

New Tires - Air Pressure

Thanks for the info USRanger74. I never could find the tire pressure numbers on their site. I think I need to add more air to my front. I think I'll try 38 and 42.

CJ - I am in Cortez, CO and the Nomad is back in Omaha. If no one answers your question, I will let you know when I get back.

New Tires - Air Pressure

You have the Cobras. I am running a Venom AM42 160/80B16 on the rear and still running the OEM on the front. Plan to replace the front next spring with another Venom. Tire is great and easily handles the weight of our bikes. Run the rear at about 42 but I need to pump it up according to the chart you provided. I think sidewall states 51 max.
