Hello. I should have done this the other day. Bought my first touring bike 2006 Nomad 1600. Of course I got one that needs the tranny rebuilt or just a motor swap, which is the direction I am going for now. I have 2 other bikes, a 81 Suzuki GS550L and a 99 Suzuki Marauder VZ800. The poor Marauder I have taken on 4 long rides(900, 2400, 4000 and 5000 miles ranging from 1 week to 3 weeks) to get a feel for what I wanted in my next bike. Last ride was March in the South West I was working in Fresno area and had 3 weeks of down time between putting bees into pollination and taking them out. So I went down the coast then up to Mesa Verde through Arizona, over to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, then Vegas( if you can ride into Vegas at night) and last but not the least Death Valley for the bloom of flowers. If you are wandering my work lets me haul my bike with me when I go to an area for weeks or months.
