Blue dots with LED's

Anyone have blue dots with LED's? I'm thinking about changing the lenses with blue dots when I change to LED's. I'm not sure that will work right, as I know that the bulb is supposed to be right behind the blue dot to have the desired affect.

Thanks for any info you might be able to share.

Kurt

Check all state laws before you spend 10 cents. In NH USA blues will get you busted by the cops every time. Even engine off and parked to show off chrome.

If it's legal go fer it.

Blue dots with LED's

One thing you have to remember... Standard light bulbs light up the whole lens, where the LES lights up just where the bulb sets. If you waste your lens by drilling and setting in a blue dot then there won't be any light going around the lens and there won't me much of a brake light to be seen on your bike.

A friend of mine had a Nomad and has 2 blue dots over each brake bulb, and I totally refuse to ride behind him!! In the daytime you can't see his brake lights.

As a Street Rodder I've hated to be behind any Rod with a blue dot!! They might be pretty at night, but during the day they block even the regular lights to the point you damn near rear end them.

Go ahead and try it, but make sure you have an extra lens to replace the one you ruined.

I have these Kury lights as an add brake light. These actually have a blue LED in the middle and clear lenses. I would imagine the effect would be the same if you just did a blue dot in the lenses.

Thanks for the responses. I talked with a buddy of mine that is a cop, and he said that one wouldn't get pulled over because of them, but that they weren't necessarily legal. I think I'll just consentrate on getting the LEDs set up and then worry about the other stuff later.
