Nice write up.

Check this write up about Nomads. Seems he has a few things wrong about my racks , but still interesting...

Nice write up.

Yeah, it's a nice write up, but he should have done some reading before the purchase.
He would have understood the Nomad better when he bought one. I've never been disappointed
with mine in regards to the power. My previous bike was a Honda V65 Magna. So I
knew what top end power I would be giving up, but I have never needed it these
past 10 years.

Nice write up.

The author was just a "typical" mc rider. Put 8000 miles on it and decided to sell it............ ::) ::)

He sold it?

A lot of biker types where I am won't put that many miles on in 3 years. The miles don't add up going back and forth between the bar and home.

Nice write up.

I got in touch with this guy and told him he had no idea what he was talking about with my racks. I also called Dave at Scootworks and told him about this... biker.
He even said this guy was wrong. I let him know that they were the very same racks and that I've been making all of Scootworks racks for years.
So, now he has redone a few words about our rack differences...

I also asked him why he actually thought 1 inch would make any difference in the handling of a bike he knew very little about.
Seems he didn't have an answer about that....

WOW... what a biker!!! ::)

Nice write up.

That looks like an old site to me and I don't get his compaint either. If you are not into DIY I have never hesitated to recommend your build.

You have a nice rack Mike

I don't know if the 1" would make much difference in handling, but it would make for a better mounting height for an Ultra trunk with speakerpods if you carry a passenger. My wife is pretty small without a "junky trunk" but I still had to drill new holes in the trunk and move the speakerpods down and out a little bit for comfort. The Ultra trunk (and thus the speakerpods too) is lower vis-a-vis the backseat on an HD than on a Nomad1600 Wompus rack. I did work around it, and it would not be an issue for those who don't ride 2 up a lot for long distances.
That said, I have no doubt I could stand on my mounted Wompus rack - it is a very solid piece of equipment and you will never worry about your trunk if you use a Wompus rack. My Sig pic shows that I have no qualms about putting weight on it short of doing wheelies.

Nice write up.

The best part of the whole article is .. he got a 2003 Pearl Metalic Black Nomad. 52,000miles on mine, no complaints with front suspension, stock rear shocks..OK. I think the Nomad is pretty "nimble".
