First Service

In about 200 miles I’ll need to have my first service. Question, is this necessary? I can change the oil and filter myself. I know they check all the nuts and bolts so they say. The cost is $200 dollars. What is everyone’s thoughts?

I always have the dealer do the first service then I do all the rest.
This way if there is a warranty issue the factory can'tt say I didn't do the first service and try to worm their way out of it.

I also let the dealer do the first service for the same reason. Also I keep the receipts for the oil for the later changes (or get it at the dealer).

Ditto on the Stealer doing the first service. During purchase negotiations, I try to get this included, discounted, etc.

You can do the first service yourself. You can do all of the maintenance yourself, but keep records and receipts. They have to prove that your work or any aftermarket products you used or installed caused a maintenance issue, you don't have to prove that it didn't.

If the dealer gives you grief, call Ma Kawi.
