I really like the color and the front wheel. How much difference did it make having only one brake disk up front?

Surprisingly not much, I did my homework and I think it was the Mean Streak that has the single brake application on it stock and when I cross referenced the parts every single part on the breaking assembly was the same part number as the Nomad with the exception of the Nomad has the right side breaks, that told me that I could safely run a single disc. Didn't lose any stopping power just a little stiffer to pull. Had I bought it this way would never have been able to tell the difference.

I'm wondering if anyone knows..if a wider REAR, wheel... from any other model will -"Just Fit Right On"- my 2002 Nomad ?

I voted 'without a doubt'! Saw the pic you posted in a recent thread and have been doing some internet searching to find some of the parts like the wheel and seat. Thanks so much for posting the parts list. What did you have to do to the lower legs to get the front wheel to mount?

Thanks, I was just talking to someone about the fact that they don't make a lot of parts for these bikes and in my opinion the Nomad is one of the best looking bikes on the market. If you are going to put a new wheel on the front you might as well be prepared to make some sort of modification. I have about $530.00 total in the front wheel this includes the rim, new tire, bearings, spacers for the rim and break, as well as the cutting down of the rotor. Remember if it don't fit force it! Chances of you finding a rim that will fit or bolt right up are slim and if you do find one it will cost you several thousands. The wheel I have retails from RC Components for $1,700 I paid $250. for it on ebay and made it fit. It was new some guy stared a build and never finished it so he parted out the bike. My gain his loss, you can find them all day on ebay like that, just be ready to make some trips to the machine shop. Also if you go this route have all of your spacers machined out of stainless steel unless you plan to paint them.

I've been running into the same parts problem. Its seems a lot of after market parts will be available for the Vulcan 900, 1500 and 2000 but not the 1600. With all the 1600 Nomads on the road you'ed think it they target this bike too. Some examples: RC Components wheels for 1500s but not 1600's. Saddleman seats for 1500's, none for 1600's. I can find Cast/chromed speedo visors for 900's, 1500's and 2000's all day long but none for 1600's.
Seems to me the manufacturers are missing out on a lucrative market.

Thanks I missed the Photo of the Year Contest, I have been out of town and didn't get a chance to summit a photo. I wish I would have. Oh well, lots of great looking rides on here.
