Okay, which of you Maggie Valley National Rally riders stole it. ...and not noticed as missing for up to two weeks??? Unbelievable!

Wonder if the Canadians came back and took it? They seemed to really enjoy getting their picture taken at it during the Rally. :-)

The article says that the sign was stolen "sometime in the last two weeks." No one noticed it was gone for two weeks? Sounds strange.
Regardless, that's a pretty low thing to do. I'm not sure what a person would do with a five foot sign anyways. It's not like you could show it off publicly. Hope they get what they deserve.

I don't think is was stolen. Look at the way the bricks are. I have heard of suggestions that there was a horrific wind up there and that is what may have done the damage.

Well it wasn't us cause it didn't fit in anyones saddle bag and exactly how do you declare something like that at the border anyway?

A number of years ago we had a beautiful 4ftx6ft sign carved and hand painted for a club I belonged to. Three weeks after we installed it, it disappeared and most likely suffered the same fate as this sign, probably hanging in some s.o.b's rec-room now.

That is a shame. I still feel like it was vandals that did it. Could have been the wind but I really doubt it. If it was stolen I sure hope they catch the ones that did it.

Yeah, we read it: the original article. It was updated at 4:34 p.m. today, and it's a different article than it was when originally posted. That shattered picture wasn't on the original article.

The head line of the story said 'sign stolen'. In the body of the article it says it was shattered. Which was it? I'm just saying, that it's no wonder someone broke Steve's arm.
