I can't read the
Is it just me or are others finding it impossible to read the "lime" green on the gray background. Mostly it's the users names I think but it sure sucks not seeing who's online some times. Can the admin do something about this or maybe the users can change their settings. Just out of consideration I mean.
Thanks in advance {I hope}

Not just you. This has been a complaint from the beginning.

Good to know,... I haven't paid much attention to complaints. And this lime green didn't bother me either till I wanted to see who was online when I was looking for a specific member. Until it effects "YOU" you don't care or think about things sometimes. While I'm at it I may as well say I don't think the blue works real well either. Maybe if it was darker.
I'm just say'in

Different colors look different on different computers, it's just different . . .
Really though, just highlight the stuff you are having trouble seeing and it pops.

I asked to have my name to be left in the un-upgraded color when I did the membership upgrade...as you can see, it still turned green! I don't like it either...

Timay, I can't change one person's color alone. If you're in that member group, you have to be the same color as everyone else in that group.
Like already said, it must really depend on your screen. They all show colors differently. For me, it's really not hard to see at all. And even if it was, it's only in certain places that are a problem, like the online list. If you guys want me to, I'll go ahead and change the background colors of the forum. The grey colors make it very hard to colored text other than white and black. I left them this color because I wanted them to be exactly the same as the old forum, so no one would complain that 'the forum is different now'. I can make the greys lighter.. just say the word.. |

Hey, I don't want to be a PIA !!! I was just say'in. Why the colour would be so different from one "puter" to another I don't know.
I'll try highlighting like Mark suggested. I think the forum looks good "Admin" and like Billy Joel sang "Don't go changing, to try and please me You never let me down before Don't imagine you're too familiar And I don't see you anymore I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble We never could have come this far I took the good times, I'll take the bad times I'll take you just the way you are "

vBulletin should have a nice dark theme somewhere. That's the one I want.

The problem isn't finding (or making) a dark-colored skin, it's that these grey backgrounds make it hard to see certain colored text. As you can see, there's 2 different greys used in the backgrounds. The problem is, a certain shade of green may look fine in one of the greys, but terrible in the other. So you really can't win. I tested every possible shade of green, and the one we're using now works the best in both (the others were WAY worse). I could easily change the backgrounds to make it work, but I was trying to keep with the original forum's theme. Believe me, it's no problem at all if you want them changed...I just kept it this way figuring you guys wanted as little 'change' as possible when we moved to the new forum. I'll work on it sometime tomorrow. ;) |

If there's a color I can't see well, I'll just temporarily highlight it. I can generally see it fine then. It's one extra step but it takes 1/2 a second and it's not on every post anyway. I still like dark themes/skins.

On this computer the background is brown but on my laptop it is gray. Much harder to determine who is online on my laptop when their name is in the green.
