Ever have this happen?

This morning I was riding to my favorite local breakfast place when I noticed, not a pothole, but a canyon and I couldn't get over fast enough. As I stood to lessen the impact (fyi, no scraping thanks to the advice of those here about shocks, etc), the throttle grip comes off in my hand. Luckily this place is on a small side street, so no traffic, but I'm thinking WTF? I squeezed it back on, got my breakfast, went to Auto Zone and got epoxy, but I'm not sure how well this will hold.

Has this ever happened to any of you and what did you do? Or what do you recommend?

Never had it happen.. but what a shock!...I will definitely take a look at mine to make sure it looks secure still. Glad you were able to stay in control.

They make this stuff for motorcross/dirtbike grips...I dont know if it would work for the material on these grips

Ever have this happen?

When I called my local stealership and told the parts guy about what happened, he stuttered, asked me twice more what and how I did it.

Wow, I can imagine a very high sphincter factor in that scenario. Glad you recovered successfully.

I'm going to get it replaced since I doubt glue will hold up long.

I'll bet if you just go to your Kawa dealer he will have some you can just use rather than buying a whole tube or can. I have seen Gorilla Glue used just for that purpose. They say that will hold anything. I cannot personally say for sure.
