Pretty much, and yup. . . That club does have several "officers" on payroll as well as the club house expenses. They don't care how you get your "dues" as long as you keep paying them. Some of the senior members offer "dues opportunities" that are not officially club business (illegal), but that's not required.

One of the reasons I was never interested is that very little of "normal club business" had anything to do with the ride or the friends.

The "biker club" I belong to is the Widows Sons. They are a Mason only riding organization. We require dues (very minimal) as there are operational costs. None of the officers get a penny. We only have 3 basic requirements: you MUST be a Master Mason in good standing, your bike must be over 500cc and you must pay the very minimal yearly dues. That's it. We wear "colors" on the back of our vests/jackets. We don't HAVE to wear the patch but most of us gladly do.

Hey Monkeyman... you know if the Widows Sons have a St. Louis area chapter?

As for the 1%ers, I doubt too many of them would be interested in prospects riding Nomads!

Tiger J --- Doesn't look like there's one right in St. Louis but maybe one of the towns either in MO or IL is close. I don't know where all of the listed towns are. You can look on the WS site (www.widowssons.com). There's alot of info there.

ponch --- I agree. Not many 1%er clubs would want a real Mason due to some of the things we stand for. And because of some of the things we stand for, I can't see any real Masons joining the Hecks Angles, either.

? I don't know much about Masons. I have as much chance at becoming a Mason as I do a 1%er.

That would take too much time to explain.

Dunno. Seems odd but there aren't necessarily chapters in the major cities. My chapter is in Kokomo, IN. Not a tiny town by any means but definitely NOT Indianapolis, either.

ponch --- PM me if you ever want to explain.

Clicking on the MO link from the WS Int'l website takes me to a MO webpage... on that webpage there is listed a St. Charles chapter (my home county) - Sublime Knights, who aren't listed on the main website. No chapter contact or chapter officers listed. I will inquire in the St. Charles Blue Lodge.

I saw St. Charles. For some reason, I was thinking that was a KC suburb, not St. Louis. My bad.
