On our way.

Well, 1 1/2 hours til we leave. Krystal gets off of work at 2:30 so by the time we get there she should be ready. We will only drive to the west side of Denver today as they now have a chance of snow over the divide this afternoon/evening. What a deal. And of course, the wind is a steady 40 mph from the south here so I will be fighting a crosswind the entire way.

Big time wind event in the part of CO (Cortez). Has been blowing for 4 days!!! Today the wind is out of the south at a steady 35 mps with gust up to 50+!! Sucks.

Well we made it to Denver but that was the plan. Get west of there so we wouldn't have to deal with rush hour traffic. Plus Krystal was working today and was scheduled to get off at 2. Fat chance. More like 5.

Well, the winds were blowing at a good 35+ mph most of the way with higher gusts. I've ridden in worse but she hasn't so it was slow going til she got more comfortable. We still took it slow. Semi's weren't running more than 60 mph on the interstate so we just kept up with them on the slab.

Tomorrow should be better most of the day but we have some miles to cover.

Nothing like another great day (sarcasim). First part was nice with little wind but definately cool temps over the passes and not really warm in the valleys. After we hit Glenwood Springs the winds decided to kick in. They couldn't make up their minds as to what direction they really wanted to come from. Left, then right, then left again and so on.

Krystal is riding her Burgman and it is light enough and she hasn't ridden in the mountains before except on the rear seat. We took it slow enough for her as she felt comfortable. She did a great job but you could definately tell the wind took its toll on her later as she was definately tired. Hopefully it will be better today. Proud of my biker mama. I think that I will have to get her a shirt made up. Have you rode your bike in 50+ mph winds? I have.

It has been a weird wind time here in Colorado! I'm sure elsewhere as well...

Glad your biker mama (and you) made it so far, so good!
