My Vaquero's Transfiguration
I bought my new leftover 2014 Vaquero this last February. Joined this forum to start learning about this bike and the things I could do to improve that lack luster performance. I really like the looks of this bike but it really needed some help in the performance department.
With the wealth of information available here - I first decided to do the throttle mod, drive it for a few weeks and go to the next step - the Ivanized ECU. Rode for a couple more weeks and added Vance and Hines Dual Slash Cut Slip-ons. Then after reading several posts decided on the Chuckster's BAK (i wanted to keep the stock appearance). It also seemed like a really good value and there weer a lot of positive comments on here about it. I installed it today! It was a piece of cake, was well designed and had good instructions. Joe also seems like a really nice guy. After riding it I can see a nice improvement and I don't really hear the noise I heard many people talking about coming from the BAK. A tad more engine noise but that's it. The Vance and Hines Slip-ons have more GROWL and are a little louder but I like the tone quite a bit. If you are more conservative with the throttle the sound is actually pretty tame but if you want to hear that nice growl you can get. Overall I am really happy with how the bike performs now! It has a lot more balls and is so much smother running. Also runs way cooler. I think the ECU made the biggest performance improvement. Then the slip-ons and not far behind the BAK. The throttle mod is icing in the cake. Next I want to do something with the seat to get my butt farther back and some bars to get my hands more forward which will make the bike more comfortable for me since I'm tall and have long arms. Thanks to everyone here for all of the great information and tips.

Nice that you like your bike, but transfiguration, I think not.
Transformation, maybe. Performance improvement? Absolutely! :)
