Weekend in the forest

I stayed in a cabin in the grounds of a country house with some friends at the weekend.I followed a path that i thought led to the cafe/bar.It got really narrow and steep, winding around trees and bushes, not ideal territory for my bike.At the end of the path was a sign saying,"mountain bike course"

They might have done,i was looking for the bar/cafe.Not paying attention,i cut across a patch of grass, and ended up intercepting a narrow track that was heading in the general direction of alcohol. Thinking back, and knowing how these cyclist like to struggle, maybe they only have the sign at the bottom/start of the course anyway.
