Was just checking the Weather and forecast for Blairsville (gotten up here from internet) is 30% chance of rain Fri, Then 60% chance on Sat with the forecast being for Thunderstorms and then 40% for rain on Sunday. That just royally blows. Anybody locale to the area have more insight as to the weather???

No. Im about 45 miles from there and You got it right. I'm going up Friday but may be wet for a few days thereafter. Don't worry. It's very nice at the lodge and some nice local riding.

Looks like we are leaving after school on Thursday and heading up to see our son in Decatur, GA. We'll be in Blairsville some time mid day on Friday. No rooms at Copperhead that we could get (had to wait too long to see if we would be able to make the trip). We are staying in town at Best Western.

Almost the same thing happened to some folks named Mary and Joseph, and because of it became famous world wide, and turned out OK.

So you gonna stay a couple days now, or gonna load your ass back up, and haul it Saturday?

Ok, let's do some basic geography here...Sterling, KS is approximately 1K miles from Blairsville, GA. Now, for most on the board, that one day trip would be on the very outer edge of what they'd be willing to ride. I personally, wouldn't mind it but my son's game starts at 7:00 PM EDT and that would mean me leaving at around 1:30 AM EDT. My poor wife wouldn't be able to do that trip plus the 1,300+ miles back home on Sunday for work on Monday .

That being said, I will be staying from Friday till Sunday morning, then depart to head back to sunny, tropical Florida. Now, next weekend I probably will be doing the 2,600 miles out and back to Wichita, KS
