Just did our 1st round of vacation picks and I lost. I will not be able to get off work for the rally.

Dude....that SUCKS...!! What a bummer, especially after missing the Redwoods Rally this year. There's always the SW rally at the end of May....

and just come to the rally. Then make them beg you to come back. You'll have them eat'in outta yer hand.

Seriously though, I'm disappointed you won't be there. Maybe someone at your work will cancel that week and you'll get to go.

Okay....quick room update. I checked with Donna at the Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge, and these are the people who have so far confirmed a reservation under our block of rooms....

Clark, Kevin
Donahue, Mike
Jegen, John
Mathiason, Bob
Olsen, Kris
Peterman, Glen
Singleterry, Don

That means there are 18 rooms left out of our block of 25....but keep in mind some of these are deluxe rooms or suites. There are only so many single or double queen rooms and so forth. If you are even thinking of making the rally....(and why wouldn't you?).....make your reservation soon to get the room that best fits your needs.

They will hold the block on rooms until early June. After that you are on your own. Keep in mind that Canmore is a resort town, so bookings will be at a premium. Since the RMSL is one of the more reasonably priced places in town...I would guess they will be booked solid come time of the rally. If you have booked a room and don't see your name on the above list, you better give them a call.

I hope everyone survived the holidays and are planning for a great 2012 riding season! Hope to see you in Canmore if not someplace sooner. One last thing, if you have any riding buddies who would like to join you for the rally...they are very welcome to do so regardless of what they are riding....

Vacation days have been approved so I'm definitely in. Waiting for word from Crochammer and once we've got our dates sorted out I'll get a room booked for the two of us.

Most excellent! Very much looking forward to meeting you since I missed you last summer on my ride up through there. Believe me when I say the rally will be here before anyone knows it, so planning ahead for rooms, routes and the like are smart moves...

OK...I am not the brightest bulb in the pack (10 billion dollar airport with a $5 control tower) but doesn't Canuckrider live in Calgary? Like 50 miles to the East of the rally?

You are right Greg. I got Canuckrider mixed up with Darksider who I think lives in Richmond, BC...closer to Rickyboy. My bad...
