Wild Hogs II

A few months after my wife passed (Melody) I decided to gather a group of riding friends & start a tradition. The group of friends that we always hung out with could never reach us on a weekend. I told them that if they wanted to find us or be with us they should get a motorcycle. In the last 2 years 6 of the eight couples purchased a motorcycle. Now we ride together at least twice a month. There are four of us now have multiple bikes. All this being said, I put together a male only ride this year. We will be leaving July 5th & returning July 8th. We have a group of 6 bikes. We will be riding to Maggie Valley, NC staying at the same place the National was held at last year. Our intention is to make this an annual event. Yes, we will be doing the Dragon & a few other roads in the area. My hope & wish is that we do not encounter the same event as the NCR group did last year on the mountain top. All those involved last year will remember the event.
I will be taking pics & try to post comments along the way.
Some how the name Wild Hogs II was attached to our ride. I doubt if we have any happenings as they did in the movie. But, I will say what happens in MV stays in MV

This is good news to hear. If you are talking about the storm that Greg did the write up about, I hope you guys don't encounter the same problem. Have a safe and fun ride. Keep making those memories.

I started bringing my sons to Americade, 'boys weekend with dad' kind of thing 10 years ago. Next
thing I knew one of my sons brought his wife and sons. It was great to see and spend time with them,
but it squashed the guys thing and separated some of us over the weekend. Afterwards I was told to
put a stop to it, fortunately I didn't have to. That son realized what had happened. And said he
wouldn't do that it again, "it took to much away from just being a guy".
Sorry for the blab, but if you can keep it just guys, it will be many memories earned and cherished
by all of you.

Have done the area roads around the dragon several times. If you get a chance you need to ride Hwy 28 (Moonshiner 28). It is much more pleasurable to ride. It consist of twists and straightways, but most of all, it is very scenic. Ride Safe and have fun.

PS: Our group rode the Moonshiner 28 Highway on our way to the "tail" at the national in MV... just in case you forgot. Great route to take to get to the "tail".
