MV Rally Success

The Maggie Valley, NC Rally was a great success. Made many new lifelong friends too.

I was not aware that Doug and Nancy Klukow, Buffalo Center, IA was attending the rally until after the rally dinner. I wish we knew they had been there so we could have included them in our activities.

So sorry, Doug and Nancy!!! We'll make sure you will be included from now on!

Nancy and I were sorry that we didn’t get to meet more people for the north central group. We booked a little late so we had to stay at another motel and we missed out on a lot of chances to meet others. I guess that means we are just going to have to attend a North Central event and meet everyone! By chance did we see the North Central group on their way home...we saw about 5 or 6 nomads pulling out of a restaurant parking lot in Woodhull Il. around 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. We were in the subway across the road and didn’t see the nomads until they pulled out.

I didn't get to meet everyone even while staying at the MV Inn. After returning home and reading posts of those who attended, I realize how many folks I didn't get to meet or worse yet, those that I met and don't realize that I did. :-/

Hey, sodbuster! Good to hear from ya'll way up north at Buffalo Center. I looked at a map after we got home and found that your town is almost straight north of us here in Gowrie. We'll make sure that you and Nancy are aware of any events we put together for the NorthCentral Region. Greg Wilson has planned and hosted some local rides along the big muddy over in Wisconsin. They are always fun.

I think most of the NCR may have been home by Saturday. Donna and I took our time and didn't get home until Sunday night.

Cajunrider - I know what you mean. I met a lot of guys I'd like to stay in touch with, but didn't write their name down so will have to wait for another rally to reconnect. I met so many really good folks.

Doug... that wasn't us. As Dave mentioned, we were basically home by Saturday. It is interesting to know there are a few groups of Nomads getting together though. It would be nice if they were all on this forum; who knows if they are or not.

As BnG said; you'll have to check-in more often; and speak-up.

I don't know that I will be putting together any organized rides this season. My schedule for the rest of this season looks bleak in having time to do so. I imagine any rides in that area I do are going to be last minute rides.

But... that shouldn't stop anyone else from putting something together!!!! ;)

I think you hit the nail on the head Mitch.
While I meet and was able to finally put faces to the names of many of the folks I chat with on here, There was probably just as many I missed meeting, including you. I guess we will just have to do it again.
