Windshield Noise at 65?
I seem to have quite a bit of noise on my 2004 Nomad when I reach about 65 mph. It is like it is really windy out but it is not. I know that is a poor description but thats all I got! I adjusted the windshield a bit, but still have the noise. I do not have any buffeting at that speed, in fact it is quite calm except for the noise.
Any thoughts or suggestions out there folks? ??? Dale Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Maybe noise from the front tire.
Run your hand over the tire and check for cupping

A buzzing sound can come from the headlight bucket or the radiator cover.I wrapped the wiring in the headlight with bubble wrap.I also wedged small pieces of rubber between the headlight and rim.I removed the radiator cover and put small split rubber tubing along the outer edges. Basically I just insulated where I thought it was rubbing. My noise was at about the same speed as yours.

Yes you didn't say if the noise also happened before the new tires. If it didn't I would think the tires have something to do with the sound. Could be the tread pattern is different than the tires you had before and make a different sound.

Windshield Noise at 65?
Ya'll I think I have figured it out. I came off a Honda Shadow with a very small shield on it. I think I am just not used to the large shield on the Nomad and the sound of the wind coming around and underneath it. I think I am going to play around with the adjustments on it. Thanks for the help!

Hold your left arm across your chest. See if the buffeting and noise subsides some.
I think you need larger lowers. MT
