So, does the noise of the cam chains sound anything like a Cicada buzzing loudly in the trees? My Classic has 31,500 miles on it (1500 miles I put on it since buying it in July this year). From 2,250 rpm and up it makes a persistent buzzing easily heard even though I have V&H Bigshots on the bike.

The noise sounds like a rattle, which I thought is coming from something under the fuel tank. Now I wonder if it is the cam chain "buzzing" on the spark plug tube.

That's just tinnitus. And after a lifetime of loud bikes until I discovered earplugs only about 10yrs ago... I get it too.
