F+S Tachometer and 4" risers
The Fire and Steel tachometer mounted on the top or the existing OEM handlebar riser on my Nomad is angled so it can easily read. I was looking at Phat11 risers and realized that the swept back angle of the riser would angle my tach as to be unreadable. My solution was to order the Scootworks SWR-12 riser extension kit. This extension kit when attached to the original handlebar riser, in effect, gives you a 4" riser extension and not being angled keeps the tach in the same viewing position. It also brings the handlebars back about 2" making it much more comfortable for my 5'9" frame. I was surprised at the comfort level having only ridden the bike in the original configuration. The install is straight forward using a 14mm socket to remove the original riser nuts. I needed a swivel on the left side because of all the wires. The right side was a cinch no swivel needed. They look great and the fit is fine. An added benefit is the cost--only 66 dollars. $76.00 with fed ex shipping.

I'm glad you got it so you could still use your F&S tach (pricey little buggars ain't they). I installed a tach in my premeux fairing yesterday, and I love the way my bars fit my body. I have a long reach (38" sleeve length) and my arms are bent when riding.

vulcanE---Yes the tach was around 300.00 dollars andI really like it . What amazed me is that my operating range, after first gear is in the 2000 to 3000 rpm range between shifts. That is a pretty small operating range, almost like a diesel. Of course that is not pushing it just cruising. I have a 34" reach and the pull back makes for a more comfortable ride---Now, my arms are bent also. Bike feels more natural.

Before yesterday, I didn't really have an idea of what my RPM operating range was. I've been changing gears around 3100 RPMs, so my ear was fairly close, glad you got it to were you can spend "a day in the saddle"!
