Used shocks
I am allways amazed at how cheap things are in America.Kawasaki UK want £536=$705, EACH !,for rear shocks.I just bought a pair from a breakers yard in America, off of a 2005 bike, with 30,000m on it,for $25.Add shipping & customs handling,£63=$83 all in.Brilliant.

Couldn't agree with you more Mick.. Just bought used air shocks, compressor. valves etc from the US... Cost plus shipping and duty was £200... Easily a quarter of the cost this side of the pond...

The 20 Million immigrants that have washed up on our shores, are the biggest expense we have mate. Most of them are given a free house, and are claiming every benefit they can get.Including child benefit for kids that are'nt even in the country,if they exist at all.

I just got a knock back on those shocks. They are prohibited under the global shipping rules, and had to go back to the seller.I can only assume that the air & oil in them is considered a danger, because it may expand in the aeroplane's cargo hold.Bollocks, they were really cheap too.

If you could talk the seller into dis-assembling them they could be sent as "parts".

Hey Duffy I assume that's how he labelled them anyway. It wont hurt to ask him though.Even if he takes the valves out,and drains the oil,the problem with the shipping might still arise. They did'nt say why it was refused,i am just guessing.

As you figured Mick, it was probably due to the fluid and pressure. Air shipping is touchy now a days. If he labeled them as "shocks" they may have just assumed they were "loaded". If he were to drain and dis-assemble then they would just be shock "parts".

I wont be needing them now mate.I was just at my brothers house, and he has a pair of new shocks that he bought for his Matchless G15.They were an inch too short for his bike, but they are going to be fitted on mine in the morning.Result.
