My tail mods.

Trying to attach pics here of the recent tail mods I did. The red reflector on the bag has a single filament running light, small bullet is the turn signal. On the back I have curved plate holder with led tag illuminator, running and brake light.
Additional tail light and brake light are the plazma rods. Under the bags at the outer edge are knight riders running and brake lights also. Also installed street magic brake light strobe. Really happy with everything except the knight riders. I think the way the light runs back and forth on the bar is just a bit much. Don't know, might get to liking them. Did a short video of the lights in "action". Just have to figure out how to post...

I was getting ready to ask that lol. A how to guide would be awesome, I hate the rear turn signals and the front turn signals and want to mount flush signals or another of some sort.

Here is my take on it thus far. No bracket needed, I just drilled holes in the plate and ran little LED equipped plate bolts through the top 2 grommets. I kept the reflector bolts in the normal plate holes so that I had reflectors still. I do need to wire up the LED's and also add in the LED strips for my turn signals.

Dutch, check out a couple posts above. You have a couple lazy and or stupid fans of your work. Any chance you could hook us up a DIY and list of parts?

I have that plate mount, just haven't put it on yet . . .- how did you wire it up? Was it difficult to do?

If you have a state (like Virginia) that requires yearly inspections, the Turn Signals need to be SAE/DOT approved - therefore the LED turn siginal mirrors can't be the primary turnsignal but can supplement the approved ones . . .

I just went to the ricer performance section of Autozone and looked at the different LED's they had. The "turn signals" were 24 or 26 inch flexible strips that use 3M sticky tape to attach. The ones I uses had the LED's facing out the side/edge. You can just cut them to length. They cost about 26$

The little LED equipped license plate bolts were in the same section. They're pretty similar as the ones in the Summit Racing link posted earlier, but were only 12$.

I just drilled 2 holes in the plate for the led/bolts to be able to go through it and the top two grommets that the stock setup was bolted through.

I cut the ends off the stock harnesses and soldered all the new lighting into them and plugged them in as normal.

The only thing I need to do now is get the blink rate back down on the turn signals. Also, during the day light hours it's hard for others to see those turn signals if they're on the same side as the signal that is on. I'll be getting some mirrors with built in turn signals to help with that.

Thanks! Keep us up to date on the blink rate issue. My last bike needed a load equalizer when I modded them I think?
