If memory serves correctly, 2015 is when the O2 showed up on the 1700's. Someone will correct me if I am wrong... Look on the right side pipe, directly below the side cover. On the pipe do you see a O2 sensor sticking out, underneath the bike towards the inside? A couple of wires, which run up towards the battery compartment?
The '12 Vaq does not have it, the '15 does.

Got the crazy Ivan reflash in today and went in easy with no issues!! On first start I noticed bike was going up and down in RPM's and then just idled well. I shut it off and it did not do that again. Bike does sound meaner and deeper. I'm interested in pipes now for sure! Thanks for the advice guys!!!!

2015 is when the O2 sensor showed up, correct. The sensor runs from the right side slip-on up under the right side cover.

I did the same as you are thinking about. My bike was stock and after the ECU reflash I put on Cobra Tri Flo slip ons. A few weeks later I put on Chuckster's BAK big air kit. Now the bike sound great and has way more power.

(must have! flash your ICU so the bike runs better)

JUST saw these Apes...I want the extra arm length!
Lots of complaints of adjusted bars hit Cowl....yep!
Plug n Play !!!!!! STOCK CABLES!!

Haven't piulled the trigger

Stereo upgrade a must.. don't waste money on better Stock Speakers.
Got this idea from another member:
https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-Compa.../dp/B00UTXQL74
Bluetooth control mounted by Left mirror. ($150, i bought a used one for $90)
Running: Polk Audio AA2652-A MM651UM 6.5-Inch Coax Ultra Marine Speaker
SWEET, ($100 @sonic electronics.) Randy's Adapters !!

I read all the Amp hookup blogs.
In the end...I mounted the new amp as almost Stand alone!!
I don't play the radio, iPod (which I dont have) or Aux thru new amp.
Just bluetooth from my Phone, which is handlebar mounted and charging
(kenwood amp has a USB charge port !!!!)
I don't touch phone, just use new amp Control by Clutch handle
I use a GPS software on the Smartphone, CHANGES Volume as I speed up/down.

Very pleased.
4 Channel amp, could run rear speakers but not sure you could hear them while riding.

Just some thoughts

2012 Blue Vaquero
Ivan Flash
Open Intake w/Stock cover, KN filter....noisey
Drilled Stock Exhaust (little change)
Chrome Headlight ring

So the original owner has freedom racing true dual pipes that I'm gonna trade him for. As far as the mini apes I want to get comfortable riding this bike first. I'm a rather new rider so I'm guessing apes may take a while to get used too. The stereo I may mess with when it's warmer than 20 degrees! LOL

No, I just put it on and only rode the bike for one day. I had no problems but the temps were only in the high 50's. I need to wait for hotter temps to see if it pings. I'm a conservative rider so I don't think I will have any problems.

From what I have read Ivan will reflash for no extra charge if it doe ping after the BAK.

What do u mean by pings? Like a noise? Let me know if u end up sending it in for reflashing or not.

This explains it better than I can. Pinging makes noise like marbles rolling around and bouncing in your engine.

Picked up the freedom performance true duals today from the old owner. They look sweet. I'll probably have my local shop install them given I've never done this and don't have the instructions.

So my local shop wants 320.00 for the labor to swap the pipes out. Said it's a 4 hour job. Is he right or does that seem a little high?

I'd say it's on the high side. Takes me about 1/2 hr to remove all of the exhaust system from my Voyager.

I'm not familiar with those pipes to know if there is something special about the install, other than being duels. But from their website they just look like a simple install.

it's not hard at all, I'd say do I yourself all you need is basic hand tools and new exhaust gaskets.
