I just bought mine from Dennis Kirk and got free shipping. They ship pretty quick too.

I didn't notice how much shipping was from Parts Direct.

I also got mine through Dennis Kirk about 2 1/2 years ago, and they do ship quickly. If that other site has free shipping, call Dennis Kirk, and they will beat that price by $1.

Dennis Kirk is a great place to order from. They will always beat anyone's price by a dollar, and their shipping is always extremely fast. If I ordered anything today, it would be on my doorstep on Thursday afternoon. I've never had a bad experience with them.

Thanks guys...Parts Direct charges a $20 insurance fee for shipping. I will check with Dennis Kirk before ordering.

Guys on the Delphi forum are not happy with V&H. Lots of problems with pipes cracking.

Mine have 30,000 miles on them and have no signs of cracking. That's not easy, smooth, highway miles either. over 90% of that is stoplight-to-stoplight riding, going cross-town to work every day.

Now maybe there were some defective pipes sold, but I'm thinking that maybe people are being careless with the assembly.

For one thing, the V&H pipe always seem to come from the factory with big burrs on the header pipes, where they slip into the mufflers. Also the mufflers have welding burrs inside the inlet ends. These must be smoothed off with a grinder before you slide the mufflers on.

Also it pays to use some anti-sieze compound. What you do not want to do is take a 2x4 and start wacking that muffler onto the pipe. I think you'll cause damage to the head pipe, and at some point you'll want to change the rear tire or grease the driveshaft & that muffler's gotta come off! Do the hand fitting up front and save yourself some time and effort later.

Finally, don't tighten anything completely until everything's together and lined up just right and all the bolts and nuts are on and just barely snug. Then you can torque things down. As you do it, make sure nothing gets in a bind because the muffler isn't on quite far enough or the rubber mounts aren't quite lined up. Make sure your engine mounts are torqued down as well, so there's no excessive vibration transmitted to the pipes.

Good price on V & H Baggers

My baggers were on the bike when I bought it and the other day I needed to unbolt the left muffler from the bag support and I found that it had been rotated so that the bolts didn't line up with the muffler after removing the clamp on the muffler I got it free so I could rotate it back in place but when I did that it hit a bolt on the rear end just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

I just ordered a set from Dennis Kirk for $419.06 and free shipping. They beat CycleSpot.com by $1. They should be here Thursday.

That is one heck of a good price Beez. I have to rig up my trunk before the baggers though. The wife and I are planning some overnighters and she needs more room for all of her "stuff". Thanks for sharing that price.

Dennis Kirk's price on V&H baggers is $424. I'd order them from DK, I've never heard of that other outfit. Dennis Kirk is usually not the lowest price on anything. I think you can find a better deal shopping around, and then order from DK and ask them to "beat it by a buck".
