That's what I did with mine, put the chrome accents from the auto parts store.

PS Correction...I did the three strips on the door and around the door! I did not run the three around the bags.

Thanks Rasta. I have the leather wraps on the bags so I'm not running the three over the tops either. The three strips on the side of the bags where I'm planning to make shiny.

I purchased the chrome strips at AutoZone. They come in a variety of sizes from 1/8" to 2". You just trim and stick. It's an inexpensive way to replace the side strips.

That looks great - and the size goes well with the bike unlike so many that look out of place.

What rack mount did you use for the trunk? The price on those from a1hardbags seems very inexpensive and would be a great addition to my Nomad for the long commutes I have to do these days.

Scottmoritz, thanks for the comment. In response to your question about the trunk. The truck was purchased through Amazon.com for less than $100. It came complete with the backrest and rack. I mounted directly to the OEM rack. I removed the OEM backrest and mounted the trunk using 1/2" EMT one hole straps. It has been mounted for 5 months with no problems.

Murphy, Thanks for the boost of confidence.

I looked on Amazon - is it the ABS trunk you went with? I had looked at the DMY trunk at a1hardbags and it looks to be very similar...but theirs is more expensive and they do not list the material of construction.

Hello,
Beautiful bike, did you use your original rack to mount your trunk?

Scott, yes, it is the ABS trunk. It is exactly the same trunk that A1Hardbags sell. I had one from A1 Hardbags on another motorcycle.

Ranngenomad, Yes it is mounted the the original OEM rack.
