I love it too, we have such a short riding season at the best anyway, so you have to get acustomed to cool weather. Chaps, soft lowers work great for me. I like Fall riding best anyways because you don't cook in trafic or at lights.

I have had some of my best rides in winter. I will ride most of the time at 37 degrees or above. You just have be dressed right. There are people who ride snowmobiles at 10 degrees, they are just dressed for it. I say lets ride all winter. Excluding Snow and Ice ofcourse.

Alberta, Canada! Is your riding season over now? We are already getting snow in Idaho. Was going to take the bike to church this morning but could not get it out of the driveway due to ice and snow. Gone now, sun is out roads are dry and ......... NO BUGS

As long as the roads are dry and the temp is north of about 17 I will ride. Not far at 17 but still better than a cage.

I agree this is some of the best riding right now ,weather permitting of course. It was supposed to be a cool rainy weekend here, but I just returned from Pittsburgh a couple of hours ago and it was a great weekend, today it was between 75 and 80 degrees all the way home. Not bad for this time of year , and the leaves where awesome most of the trip.

I agree with big dan, best time of the year now to ride. Good foliage change, no bugs, not too cold yet! I ride all year around due to being in central TX but we do hit freezing and near zero at times. if it ain't snowing/raining I'm riding 365.

Best thing is how good the coffee and hash browns taste when you stop for breakfast!

Worst thing? Sand on the roads after a snow! Be careful all.

You have a good point there. See, I hate winter. Too many cold, snowy, icy winters in my life, but I do like cooler weather. Don't mind bugs, that why we have a windshield. Cooler weather makes traffic a bit more tolerable. So, I'll take fall and spring and summer, you snowmen up north can have winter.

Well it was decided last night that a few us will be calling in to work Wednesday advising our employers we're feeling well and won't be there. It's gonna be 84 degrees and we'll be riding through the Redwood Forest towards the Pacific Coast. This will make for a nice winter day.

When drops below 60 degrees here in California some guys get tempted to stop riding but I'll even ride if it's 50...I just have to put on a jacket over my long sleeve T-shirt!

Actually it get's down into into the 30's here, but what the heck...anyday on a bike beats a ride in the car!

Best thing about winter riding

Where my office is, they have a bike parking lot. 8 spaces for about 20 bikes. All winter long, I don't have to look for a place to park cause when the temps drop below 45, I'm the only bike in the lot I love the look the cagers give me when it's down in the teens and single digets. The look like I just sprouted 2 heads and they're both purple. :)
Ride safe,
Dano
