This is kind of weird - his helmet came off?

Motorcyclist critical after early-morning Lehi crash
By The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated: 09/06/2008 02:43:29 PM MDT

Posted: 10:18 AM- An accident on Interstate 15 early Saturday left a motorcyclist in critical condition.
About 1:10 a.m., a 21-year-old Lehi man attempted to change lanes while speeding on his motorcycle just north of the Lehi Main Street entrance, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden.
He hit the back of a Volkswagen and hit his head on the car, knocking off his helmet. The man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center by helicopter in critical condition. The man's name was not released because charges could be filed in the case, Roden said. It is not clear whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
The collision caused lane closures for about three hours, and another three-car crash occurred during the backup. One man in that incident was taken to the hospital with lower back pain, Roden said.

I could see that happening under the right conditions, especially wearing a half helmet.

Had a news report in Austin here where a motorcyclist was hit by a cage and they found the bike but no body. later found the body over a mile away down the road. Apparently the cage hit him and drug him over a mile and then he slid out and they found him ,,,,dead. :-(

Doesn't sound like he was the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Lot's of insanity on I-15 along the Wasatch Front. The overwhelming goal of everyone out there is to get in front of everyone else at all costs. 85 MPH bumper cars, and bikes in this case.
