EBC Brake Pads

I had my front and rear brake pads replaced in June - the rear ones just completely failed after only 1400 miles/3 months.

The brake pads are from EBC who is supposed to have a 1 year/5000 mile warranty, so I'm going after them for at least the $40 for the pads.

Anyone else have experience with EBC pads? Or suggestions for a better manufacturer?

Ive been using EBC pads with pretty good results on the rear, Ive gotten 20,000 miles on each set. Are you using the correct pads? They should be FA229HH & FA231HH. They do make pads in different compounds, perhaps you got the wrong ones.

if you are buying the aftermarket organic type, the nomad will eat the back one up. I went through 2 sets very quickly. I ordered the OEM this time and no issues.

My rear EBCs were gone in 8K and I thought that was bad.
There must be some bad ones out there.

I replaced my rears with EBC from Dennis Kirk. and they are working well.

I got 8,000 miles out of a rear set of EBC's and have been very happy with OEM Kawasaki pads ever since. I know they cost more but they do last a lot longer.

Id prefer the oem pads as well over the EBC pads, they are quieter and do last longer, but here thay cost $104.00 plus tax for a set. The EBC cost about $50.00 a set.

Just this afternoon I ordered a set of EBC FA231HH pads for my rear brake. over 47,000 miles on the original pads. I know I'm going to need them soon, so I want a set on hand. I have the same pads on the front, although they are noisy, they work great.

The ebc pads work great..as scott said..noisey. My rear pads I had to replace the ebc's after about 10k miles. The fronts are only half worn. Because they work well and are reasonably priced..I'll replace them again..unless I hear of other brands that have success and I can get them at a resonable price. The ebc pads to work better than stock...Bdog

25K on the original pads. They're still have quite a lot of life left in them too.

It probably all depends on how you ride. I can imagine two people have drastically different mileage on their bikes, but the same amount of use on their brakes.

I use the front brakes mostly so my EBC on the rear are fine after 6000 miles.

I always seem to get 20,000 miles out of the rear EBC pads. Im still on the OEM originals at 74,000 miles.

WOW Ring!! You've gotta have the record for pad longevity. I have a set of ceramic rear pads waiting to be put on. I'll let you guys know how they work out when installed.

I gear down as much as possible, and use both brakes all the time. I think this really helps with getting maximum mileage out of them.

I always gear down, and try to use the brakes sparingly. I'm just waiting to hear back from my mechanic about whether or not EBC will cover the $40 for their pads that lasted way under their claimed 1 year/5,000 mile warranty.
If they cover the defective pads, I'll consider using them again. If not, it's back to the expensive OEM's that at least appear to last awhile.
