Chuckster's New Teardrop!

I know, I know, it doesn't exist without pictures - FINE! As far as I am concerned, this is PERFECT!

Can you please confirm: I can't tell from last picture but is the filter open with tear drop cover on it?

I want the filter protected from rain/elements driving or sitting and would consider this over Chuckster's BAK that uses stock cough drop bowl as I know that is well protected.

Water won't hurt or get past the exposed filter. On my Nomad I had an open filter and rode thru the worst rain ever with no ill effects.

The filter is uncovered, which is the way I wanted it. I've seen multiple posts over several years of riders using this filter open with no ill effects from even heavy downpours. The fewer turns the air has to make, the better the performance. Besides, water vapor won't damage an engine. I had a water injection setup on a 400cci Blazer back in the day to allow me to retard the timing more without pinging. Certainly put a lot of miles on that baby!
