Question 2015 metallic charcoal grey Vaquero

Need some help and information as I try to find a good voyageur or vaquero. Found a 2015 metallic charcoal grey vaquero yesterday at a Harley dealership that they took on trade. The bike looked mint but it had a black stripe down the fairing and bag on the one side but no stripe on the other side of fairing and bag. Is this the way they came from the factory. Kinda wondering if it had been in an accident or not. My other question is that it had the running lites already installed. Did these models come this way as I know the lime green ones didn't come stock with running lites. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I have to make a decision on the bike by Monday. Thanks

The driving lights were not standard on any vaquero ever. If the bike has them they were added after purchase. As for the stripe it sounds like the saddle bag was replaced. I don't believe the stripe was stock, not a 100% sure.

From the looks of this pic it was stock from the factory that way.

I own that exact same bike. Stripes are factory and on left side only. The auxiliary lites are a $350 cdn option. I have them also. If you do any night riding at all, you will like the extra lites. They really brighten up the road.

Greetings,
Plus 1 on what has been said.
Striping is correct on the 2015 Metallic Carbon Grey (See sig! ;) )
Aux lights are an option that has been added by the PO apparently.

Ride safe,
Smokier

The auxiliary lights are halogen, I believe 35 watts each. Excellent lights for night riding, and extra daytime driving lights. I know what Winnipeg traffic is like. I have family there. If the price is right..... the vaquero is an awesome bike. I have no regrets buying mine. Ask them if you can test ride it before you make an offer on it.

One other thing to consider is if you ride with a passenger or not. For me I ride solo. To make a vaquero a two up bike will cost a considerable amount of money, and probably us currency to boot. The voyager on the other hand comes with a better seat,a top trunk with backrest ,top opening side bags and the auxillary lights. Something to think about.

Thanks Smokier and Rozie. I always ride solo. The vaquero I am looking at has 19,000 kms. passenger backrest and world custom lugagge rack, auxillary lights and leather dragon wings for the crash bars plus 2 years warranty. I will probably test drive it on Monday. They have got it listed at $14,000.00

Just for comparison sake: Mine was $13600 US OTD (out the door- tax, title, license, etc) for a NEW VAQ with 6 miles and a 3 yr warranty. Of course it didn't have the nice list of extras you have mentioned...

Best of luck!
Smokier

really good deals out there on all metrics ... also for compare i got my new leftover nomad ( 2013 ) in 2014 for 13300 out door, then ran into a guy who got same bike for 12500 out door, then met a guy who bought a new 2014 leftover voyager for 14000 out door ! not saying you should worry so much about a couple hundred here and there but..... mostly go with the bike you really love.. good luck

A new vaquero here in Edmonton retails for $18000 cdn... I got my 2011 with 2000 kms on it for $9000 and it is as clean as a new bike ... That deal sounds pretty fair, but obviously make them a lower offer. Harley dealers don't like to keep anything in their inventory that isn't a harley

Hey SUMMITRIC: Thanks for the reply. No stock in Wpg. so started looking in Sask. and Alberta. Best price on a old new stock of a lime green 2015 Vaquero in Alberta was $15,399.00 from Echo and in Lethbridge was $15989.00 and they weren't in any hurry to sell. Both new old stock.New old stock 2014 in Sasketchewan are $15,000.00. Nobody seems in a hurry to move old stock.
Thanks to woodthumb and smokier for the comparision. Our dollars is on a serious skid right now thats why I started looking for good clean trades in Canada
Summetric you are right about Japanese in a Harley shop. I will be riding it and if I like I hope they will sharpen their pencils. Thanks to all that have replied to this thread
