you guys buying 1600's have it good.
I was reminiscing about my first Nomad that I bought in Feb 1999.
We have it good now, I had forgotten that back then I had to buy the passenger backrest separately, and at a very high cost. Also had to buy the side plates for mounting it separate. Guys a little before me had to buy the crash guards too, but that ended fast and the engine guards came standard pretty quickly. I had forgotten that buying the passenger backrest was something you did after buying the bike, not something that came with it. We have it good now. There was also only one place to get a drivers backrest too, from the dealer. They charged a premium for that too. At least now we have options there too. That's my old man, "we had it rough back in the day" speech for tonight :) Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I've noticed that the '08s doesn't come with all the bling that the '05-07s did. example- chrome rear mastercylinder cover, a powdercoated frame instead of gloss black, just to name a couple. I suppose maw kaw wants to get some $$ for that bling.

Dan, I'm sure that you meant to mention that in "your day" it was also uphill both ways to the dealership.
Brad, be careful with those cigars. I think something stronger than tobaco is rolled in them cause you are imagining things.

I just about freaked when I heard how much the dealer wanted for the backrest & luggage rack. I really freaked when he said it'd take 4 weeks to order one.
I got one on sale direct from www.buykawasaki.com and got in 3 days, plus saved about $350 if you consider that one dealer wanted almost $600 plus tax! (The other wanted over $500) I pretty much quit going to the local dealers after that & started ordering everything on-line. |

No doubt Dan. I figure the chrome and accessories on my ride cost almost as much as the bike itself.

I looked at the 08 long and hard and never noticed any difference than the 07. I bought the 07. I believed the dealer when he said "no difference." I guess that slight of a change doesnt matter much to me. This forum is loaded with info you just cant get anywhere else.
Like CaddmannQ, I usually buy on line for my bikes unless I am concerned whether it will fit. |

I went by the dealer today. They had 1 nomad ('08 red with black) I must say that color combo looked pretty cool in person.
