New Clutch after Rotella

I had to replace the clutch on my 2006 nomad after40K miles.
This was after I used Rotella Syn. Prior to this, all changes (3K miles) were with Mobil 1 motorcycle oil, and no clutch probs until the Rotella use. Was it the Rotella or was it just time?

Eeeehhh...40k isn't too bad if you're a hooligan with the clutch and throttle, or ride a lot of stop & go traffic like me. I don't think it was the Rotella. You didn't use any oil rated as "EC" (energy conserving) did you? One change of that stuff is death on a wet clutch.

wildbill said the same thing. He had 30,000 miles. I know many people including myself use rotella with no problems. At some point things wear out I guess. I know the nomad clutch is designed to slip (on downshift and such) and is thinner than the meanstreak clutch spring. Some people replace it with a meanstreak clutch spring.

I'd be very happy to get 40,000 out of a clutch.

I don't think its the Rotella, I replaced my clutch spring at about 38k and Ive never had Rotella in the bike until last week. It seems a lot of guys replace them around that mileage.

I don't think he did. I'll have to dig up his email to me, but since he puts on 50K a year, it all must be highway.
