Ice in Georgia

Snowing in north Georgia right now. Drove up through Brasstown Bald and the Richard Russell yesterday and saw this.

My wife said it was snowing in Canton around 2:00 pm and lasted about 30-45 mins. Funny, we've been told we would get snow about 5 times this year and I havent seen a single flake. No one mentioned snow today and we got it

Wish it really worked that way, Brother. I'd tell everyone who'd listen that we were going to get 10 feet of snow and it was going to be 200* below zero just so it would be sunny and 70*. :)

Blizzard conditions here calling for 20-30 cms of snow today,-12 c everything closed .

Still waiting on the snow to start dropping... Haven't really had that much to call it a winter yet. Soon it'll happen though.

We're going to have this bitterly cold weather for the next 10 days or so. Looks like Saturday might be the only day where the lows AREN'T hovering around zero (F). Only thing I'm worried about is the antifreeze in my truck. At last check, it was only good to -10F. OTOH, it survived the last bitterly cold spell a few weeks ago.

Our nor'easter finally passed, measured 16" of snow in the driveway. Had to clear it 4 times snowblower and ATV. calling for an additional 2-4 today. Glad I am off to sea tomorrow for a few weeks. However the North Atlantic is not a nice place this time of year. No escape ?

It didn't snow enough to accumulate for pictures at my home but lest than 30 miles North and West of me there were accumulations enough to have snowball fights. Temperature was 20 degrees here early last week and expecting the same this coming Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We won't be able to say that we didn't have a cold winter this year.

Even down here, this year. It was windy but 22* today. I had a light jacket on and thought twice about wearing gloves. It looks like, if we can get through Tuesday night, we'll be out of the worst of it. (At least until next time.) Monday night is supposed to be -20*F (without the ever present 30 mph winds). That'll set records around here. Maybe not up north?
