Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!

You were lucky you could do that Larry Fishburn. Not everyone is as fortunate as you. Was I smoking when you saw me ride through town the other day?

I don't smoke in the shower anymore so that's a pretty good start I think.

Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!

Hey Caddman,
First of all: Yeah, you made the first step. I congratulate you for making the effort and undergoing the difficulties of withdrawal. Been there, done it. Maybe it helps you to know that there are others out there who did it, like I. I quit cold turkey ten years ago. I have smoked one cigarette after that and it was disgusting. All my senses, especially smell sharpened after about 6 months.
If I was able to do it, you can too. If you really set your mind to it, you can. It's a decision you make for yourself. I can give you all kinds of advice but the best thing is to take it one day at a time. If it becomes unbearable, just ask yourself if you could make it through TODAY without a smoke. Maybe call a friend or whoever for support. Just today, make it just through today.
I decided not to be a slave of smoking as odd it may sound.
And be forwarned. There will be lots and lots of well-meaning friends and/or relatives who smoke who will offer you a cigarette. "Oh, Caddman, come on. Just one cigarette...You can handle it." These are the people who haven't managed to quit and cringe inside because you are a step ahead and THEY cannot handle it. Not enough that you struggle with withdrawal. Now you have to deal with all the people who truly don't want it that you quit.
Ok, I'll stop rambling now.
You can do this. Don't let yourself rule by a stupid addiction.
