Trip around Lake Michigan

Rode around Lake Michigan over the Labor Day Weekend, added a extra day, so four days, 1282 miles, in all. We took both the Nomad and the Stryker. Was able to open up the Strkyer on the empty roads in the UP, was fun :-) Had rain off and on for most of the time but still a great ride.

Been up there many times. Glad you had a great (long) weekend to ride.

Bikes are looking good Jen!

Gibby and I (and my wife) met again for the fourth year in Onalaka to ride over LD weekend.

I have been going in that region on LD for several more years than that; and am always glad when Gibby can join us. He likes to ride the twisties and sweepers like I do.

We had a really great time this year, and was able to avoid any rain.

We added new great roads to our long list. In fact, we found a few roads I had not been on that were as good as it gets. Freshly repaved and basically perfect back-country roads with a perfect combination of tight twisties and sweepers. It kept us on our toes...

Total trip for me was 772.1 miles from garage to garage.

I hope everyone else was able to get out and ride some.

I am heading out this weekend with my daughter, who loves to ride, for a weekend trip. Should be fun.

Jen - Good to hear you were able to work through the rain. Rain and cold can take the fun right out of a long ride.

I had a route mapped out for the UP and just the upper half of MI - about 4 days' riding but the weather forecast was too discouraging. Wet is one thing, but I'd also like to see the scenery. Heck, if I can simulate the view in rain by taking a shower and looking through the door.

I saved my route plans for another time when my odds are a little better.

Had a good tri-state ride on LD weekend though, and a really nice ride today down along the Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers.

Rode some very country back-roads today! I ride 'em slower but like the curves and the scenery. -Cal
