Forgive Me, I looked at a Harley today

I feel so "unclean". Found a 1999 Harley Davidson Electra Glide locally For Sale at a good price. Went and looked at it, even sat on it, now you can all whip me with a Nomad crankcase hose. I realized the error of my ways.... the Nomad is such a nice ride. The Electra Glides are cramped, and even ran a little anemic, (even with a cam/lifters, pipes), sure I'm just used to my Nomad, but it was not nearly the bike that the Nomad is.... Forgive Me

I hope none of your body parts fall off after sitting on a Harley. Keep a close check on your eyesight also, looking at them can damage the eyes.

Nothing to forgive. You can't know the good unless you have seen the bad. A friend that I have given a ride to once asked me why my bike is so much more comfortable than another friend's HD. I told her that Harleys are made to look good and you can ride them. Nomads are made to ride first and look good second. And therein lies all the difference.

Ha!! Well now, why would you think I would help out?

Well... a '99 is not one that I would be interested in that's for sure. If I had a choice between a '99 and a Nomad... I would keep the Nomad. ;)

(There... How was that Bill?)

heehee. Yes, I would agree with that.

I also think that if the Nomad/HD comparisons would remain limited to the closest thing HD has to the Nomad, which is the Road King (be it the Cassic or Standard) the Nomad would remain firmly planted in the Iconic Realm of Superior Motorcycles. There is just nothing in a Road King that makes it worth the $4K or so more than a Nomad.

But when the available ammenities of V-Twin cruiser, be it a Nomad or something else, go up against a fully-equipped Ultra, a bike designed soley for long-distance travel, it's not hard to understand the allure of an Ultra.

That's the best I can give ya right now, Greg.

Always remember when looking at Harleys that you also have to factor in the price of the trailer so you can pull it around the country. However, in that regard, I guess they are the best cold weather bikes, since pickup trucks have heaters. I would say that rather than issues of being forgiven, you now are an informed consumer.

You're forgiven. Everyone is allowed a little indiscretion now and then.
