That's kind of what I was thinking. This is first and foremost a motorcycle forum. I know the threads veer into taboo areas not related to motorcycles...(ahem), but we are not a dedicated buy/sell forum. I have been a member here for 5 years...and have only sold a couple things, although I just listed a few more. Personally, I just don't see the need for it.... I can see where Ebay needs this kind of thing, but a motorcycle forum...not so much....

Doesn't matter how much the Classifieds forum is used.. the fact is people DO buy & sell here, no matter how big or small a scale.

I think you're still missing the whole point. If you don't want to use it, DON'T USE IT. You can still buy and sell all you want. This doesn't prevent you from doing so. If some people like the idea and will use it, why do you care if they do? It's THEIR choice.

You guys act as if this came out of your own pocket or is some how disrupting your browsing experience here.. it's clearly not, so what exactly is the problem?

I trust anybody on this forum and normally tell folks to send me a check after you get what I'm selling. I have confidence that what I'm selling is what I say it is. I also tell people that if ya screw me I 'll have a good ole time trash talking you on the forum. If I'm buying I agree to whatever terms the seller wants. No fuss no muss.

Use it or not who cares but I would prefer this type of system not even be offered on this forum. We are moveing away from the family feeling that makes this forum worthwhile IMHO.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it, one way or another. Some will use it, and some won't. The only constant I've seen since I've been a member on here is change, and most folks don't like changes to well, just give it some time, and it'll be the norm, and no more feathers will be ruffled.

IMO, I can't see the issue really. Unless you sell something to a fellow member and screw them on it, it will have zero impact on you and your life around the forum.
I suppose someone could pretend to have had a transaction with someone and leave negative feedback, but who would be low enough to do that?. The comments against having the feed back option here seem to suggest that everyone is honest and upstanding anyway.
