i have a c530, but cant find a mount to keep the unit in place, so go with a Zumo (garmin) has a flat back and mounts can be found at www.ram-mounts.com

Garmin Zumo 550 is what I have. Really designed for motorcycle and comes with a Ram mount. I love mine, but it aint' cheap. I think they retail for just under a grand, but you should be able to find one for around $650 or so.

I have a Garmin Quest. Small and easy to use. The Ram mount works great.

I went with a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx, I wanted it for a few different applications (motorcycle, bicycle, airplane) as well as the altimeter & compass features. I also liked it because it had the newer chipset for higher sensitivity.

With the Ram Mount it's rock solid

I have a Garmin Quest as well. I works great...I use a Ram Mount. Next unit I would go with a larger touch screen.

I've owned a Garmin 550 Zumo (same as audiogooroo) for the past year. I love the unit.....XM capable, bluetooth capable, and is made for the rugged use on a motorcycle. I have a 2gb SD card in it with all my MP3's......use it in conjunction with my J&M CB unit.

I used a Garmin 2610 for several years and shook the hell out of it on my Nomad. Had to go to the Zumo.

It sounds like the Zumo 550 is the unit to get! Thanks for the info.
Also we were talking about GPS units at work today, and one of the guys mentioned that they are coming out with models that will work underground, such as in caves and mines etc in the near future. Anyone else hear of such a thing?

It must store a satellite view of the area before being used underground.

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like the Zuma 550 is the way to go. Now to find an inexpensive one. I've seen them from $509.00 up to over $900.00.

I got mine from amazon.com for around $630.00. That was several months ago, but you should be able to get close to that buy searching some. Keep in mind though, that when they show them for anything less than $600 they don't come with the Ram mount or the motorcyle wiring harness to power the unit from your bike.

This place shows it for $659:

Can anyone tell me if the mp3 feature in the Garmin GPS works thru the Bluetooth. I want to know if I can hear tunes in my bluetooth headset.
I'm looking at a Garmin: Streetpilot 2820 ($245), Nuvi 660 ($200), or a Streetpilot C550 ($120). All are advertised as waterproof and have Bluetooth. I can't afford the Zumo right now.

Bobzinger, my understanding is that the music will play through Bluetooth, but not in stereo. That, coupled with the fact that I could not find any Bluetooth ear buds that didn't sound like crap, had me running a headphone line from the unit along the frame to the left side of the seat. I just plug in and it all sounds great!
