Installed hid headlight with high beam 1700 nomad
Well installed a neat HID headlight system on my 2009 Vulcan 1700 Nomad. Was easy to do took about 25 minutes. The bulb actually moves on an electro magnet in and out inside bucket. I used just a car ballast unit which is digital and very small compared to what I have on my car. The bucket is full of wires but next time I have to go into the bucket I will remove one side wires that are not in use and are meant for the opposite light on a car just snip it off. Just was plug and play really other than extending the power lead and negative ground wires back to battery.
They sure light up the road allot better and is a much wider beam and I feel I am more noticed more on the road. Here is a video of what I have done. Any questions ask away. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I had one of those as well, problem with mine was after a while the magnet would stop working that controls the switiching from hi to lo and back, finally went to LED.

What kind of LED setup did you use? Would you do it again?

Never change from high to low
I find having hid on my car and on the bike especially with the driving lights I never go from low beam to high beam. I just find I can see allot better with my low beams and driving lights on as the driving lights switch off on high beam. I am really not concerned if it does not work after awhile just being noticed better. I just find it allot better to be noticed and allot more clear light.

I adapted the harley LED headlight and spots to the voyager, I liked them so much i just purchased a set of the next generation as a spare or to replace the ones I have now if I feel inclined. I have the Truck Lite Phase 6 High Intensity Plus 7 in. Headlight installed now and have the Truck Lite Phase 7 High Intensity Plus 7 in. Headlight which I just received.
