Another question anyone try the lowers that are found on the Gadget fix it page? The ones from Edmonds Enterprises or from Vernon Appenzeller?
I made my own lowers... Easy enough to do using a small sheet of polycarbonate (I chose a light grey tint), and simple hand-tools.

Cut a shape out of cardboard first to fill the gap a little better and follow the outside line of the screen downwards... Leave the protective backing paper on until you've finished... Clamp your two sheets together while you work on them so you make two pieces identical... Tidy up along the edges with a dremel and then very fine sandpaper when you're done... Try not to use high-speed tools, since they'll melt the sheet.

Those would be my best tips.

I was lucky enough to have oversize lowers on my Nomad when I bought it, so used that shape as a starter.

I have the Edmonds lowers they work great. I bought them b4 I found this forum. If I were to replace them I'd buy Chuckster's lowers.

ChicagoKid, Don't trash the cut down, as you can cut it down some more to make a summer screen of it.

I wasn't aware these wind screens came in different heights as stock.

Anyone else have a stock sheild laying around??? The one I have looks like the PO ran into a blender with it. There are hurricane looking marks all along the left center.
I did look a 7jurock....good prices.
