Toby and I pulled into our neighborhood about 4:30 Sunday afternoon, was about a 370 mile ride. Really enjoyed meeting you all and hope to meet up again sometime. Thanks to the organizers and everyone's hospitality!

My wife is always complaining I only take pictures of "stuff", not people, and this held true on this trip as well. Someone did use my camera to take a picture off us Vaquero guys, and I threw in a couple others below as well.

Hey Jay, if you are looking for something like Jen suggested, I have an extra one of these if you would be interested.

However, I will tell you it didn't work well with the stock Vaquero seat, that's why I ended up having the rack made. The seat is just too rounded on top and narrow in the back to hold a bag well. Anyway, not sure what $$$ you would have in your shock pressure deal, perhaps a trade? :)

Home safe

Martha and I made it home around 9:30 Sunday. We stopped in Mankato when the check engine light on the pickup came on and got to watch the Blue Angels perform. We had rain the last 150 miles.
We had a wonderful time and glad to hear everyone is making it home safe.
Thanks for a great rally.

Thanks to all for putting on such a great rally. My kind of weekend, ride, eat, drink, sleep, repeat. I found some new roads made new friends and have a longer wish list for my Nomad, or should I just get a Vaquero... it never ends.

Well the last day of my rally experience wasn't exactly how I would chosen it to end. But I am still here and in one piece so that is all that matters. I also learned that I have some good friends in this group that were willing to help me out when I needed it. Thanks to Ray, Dave, Gibby, Denny and Sally, Cal, Doug, and Don for all your help. You guys are great and I hope someday I can help all of you in some way. Also thanks to all the people who wished me well which was virtually everyone. It was great rally and I hope to see you all at next year's rally.

Man, I sure was happy to see you back at the hotel already that evening! It was very scary hearing about an accident behind me and not knowing too much for awhile until the guys with you came back and gave an update to the rest of the group. Very glad you came through relatively "unscathed" I guess I would say, but I assume very sore...

Everyone was extremely happy to see you walking around later on Saturday.

You are one of the best riders around, which goes to show "things" can happen fast. Just real glad you are okay... sore maybe... but okay.

See you soon.

there were definitely a lot of prayer going on at our end! I was amazed, and very pleased, to see you at dinner later the same day.

Best of luck as you deal with the phone calls and paperwork of insurances. We'll see you at the next rally . . .

I was glad to be there also. Making the dinner that night was a great way to cap off the otherwise rough day I had. Thanks for all the prayers and kind words.

Since it has now been mentioned... the "brief" of the situation is that Stretch went off the side of the road on a tight curve on a twisty-road...

Since the side of the road was up on a ravine (of sorts) the bike hit the bottom hard when it went off the road... thus flipping the bike and Stretch around quite a bit. Fellow riders with the group and a car with a woman and daughter stopped immediately to help. An ambulance was called immediately and rescue got there fairly quick -- given how far out in the woods we were. He had us all worried as they took him away in the ambulance.

Fortunately he came out of it with bruises and a scratches (I am almost positive he was super-sore for days after).

Not sure how his bike is going to fair-out. It was pretty damaged from the quick visual I gave... enough that it was just simply towed to a nearby dealer as it was un-rideable.

Stretch's mother and father came-up later that evening with a flat-bed, and they loaded it onto the trailer the next day (with the help of Gibby, Dmac, and I believe Cal who rode north to meet them in La Crosse) and towed it back "home".

Stretch was released from the hospital later that day and was able to eat with the group at our finale dinner -- which everyone was real happy to see.

Stretch is one of best riders you'll have in a group with you. Several of us have had the chance to ride with him over the last several years.

Seeing that even he can have an accident should remind everyone that accidents happens fast, and can happen to the best-riders at any time. Stretch was wearing his equipment, which I am sure helped him out, but I would defer to his thoughts and opinions on that.
