If the Deal's Gap area is chosen for the 2011 National Rally here is one excellent place to headquarter the rally. Fontana Village Resort hosts many rallies every year. Both motorcycle and automobile. Accomodations range from hotel rooms, houseboats, cabins and the campground.

It's located ten miles from the Dragon at Deal's Gap.

Deals Gap is only 850 miles from me. That's a whole lot better than the 1750 of the last one

Not that I would ride the Gap, not to good in the turns :(

There's plenty of motels within an hour or two from Deal's Gap as well.....plus great roads in between.

Gotta be careful where though....some areas are "dry."

I already told the wife that she can pretty much plan on me being gone for a week in 2010. Can we move it back to like August though, wife is due end of May. A rally in June might not go over too well right after the kid is born.

OK...here's the latest on the KawaNOW National Rally for 2011.....

It will be held at Deal's Gap...probably will base out of Robbinsville, NC. Todd and Kawgirl have been put in charge of the Rally since they both live in North Carolina.

That location was chosen not only because it's got 318 curves in 11 miles, but also to try and ease the travel pains for those in the Eastern part of the US that couldn't attend the 2009 National. This will give all those in the Eastern part of the US an opportunity to attend.

Dates will be determined later, but count on it being in June of 2011.
