Just back from Sturgis

http://vulcanbagger.com/forums/attac...1&d=1439089170

There were definitely a lot more bikes than usual this year being the 75th everyone and their grandmother was there.

Had lots of fun even considering the traffic.

Parking lots were jam packed and people loved parking next to my Vaquero, this way they could find their bike easy. My friend decided to catch up with me one day and parked in the middle of the madness at Black Hill HD with his Black Ultra . . . it took him 40 minutes to find his ride. Needless to say it never took me more than 30 seconds to find mine, it could be seen from a few hundred yards easily.

We got lots of great comments on the Vaquero from many other riders. Such a smooth running and smooth riding bike. I am glad I choose a Vulcan.

Glad you had a good time and got home safe. Sturgis is on my bucket list. BTW, nice looking scoot, I have always admired the green ones.

Sturgis is defintley on my bucket list too. I go to Daytona Beach every year. Looking forward to Biketoberfest. I am interested in seeing how many Vaqs I come across.

Glad to hear you made it home safe.

Cool, love the pic with Devil's Tower in the background. On my list of sites to see on the bike. Love the Vulcans too.

I sat in Hill City (the middle of the Black Hills) the other day waiting for a friend and just watched the bikes go by. In a little over an hour I saw one Nomad, one Classic, four Yamaha's, one Triumph, about half a dozen Wings, a dozen or so Vics and the rest were Harleys. Most of them were "black". Interesting to say the least.

I'm still on my way home... Saw some sights around Sturgis I'll never forget for sure.

Sitting out of the sun in Moab at the moment, and still not aclimatized to this heat. I'm not sure how I'll get on when we pass through the Grand Canyon and Laughlin, but I think - not so well.

Two schools of thought there... Loose white long sleeved shirt? Or wet a shirt under a wind-proof jacket?

The other thing to consider is riding in the early part of the day.

A friend of a friend lives there. He said it was the worse year he had ever seen. Was very concerned for a lot of what he called "beginner riders on big bikes". Said he was going to take vacation just so he wouldn't have to get out on the roads. :-)

Glad you had a good time. My daughter lives a couple hundred miles to the southeast. Maybe I'll go someday.

Heard that this year was the worst year for motorcycle deaths out there. Numbers reaching close to 100. I would love to go ride out there but no way would I tangle in that huge mess of bikes, just not my style. Glad you made it back safe!!

Actual deaths related to the Rally (two weeks and includes autos) was 13 I believe. Injury accidents were over 100 though. Several of the deaths were caused by other vehicles (cages) but the highest number were just over extended riding and loosing control or not paying attention and running into another vehicle (bike).
