Hello from California
Hey everybody,
I've been lurking here off and on for a while. Just joined because I'll soon have a Vulcan 1700 of some sort. I'll follow this up with a post about choosing my next bike in general discussion. I'm riding an '06 Goldwing now. It's the 17th bike I've had since age 17. I've owned a bike and ridden regularly ever since, these last 44 years! I've got what my wife calls "Motorcycle-itis". I live and ride in Marin County. That's in the North Bay part of the San Francisco Bay Area. There are many hilly, winding roads nearby including Highway One. I'm fortunate to live here. I like to tour too. I rode from home to Seattle and back a few months ago. I turned a 1900 ride into a 2900 mile huge loop. Total fun for eight days in the saddle. I ride solo on the bike, but with other rider friends sometimes. My wife doesn't like the experience. The things I love about riding- G forces, cornering, accelerating terrify her. I can ride from one tank full to the next without stopping. She doesn't have the patience for it. Anyway, thanks for the information here. I'll try to contribute as well.
