This has been around awhile but still may be good for those that haven't seen it. You can hit deer in the daytime too!!

Note the trail of blood on the road. This is never a good sign.

One of the real perils of riding, wildlife. Excellent advice though, as long as the bike is upright, don't quit riding.

I hadn't seen that. Thanks for posting it.

Must be quite a shock to hit something so hard and have no idea what just happened till you get stopped.

Too bad evolution didn't select for a slightly smarter Deer :)

I just read a report on deer hunting. Here in New York State we killed, eerr, I mean harvested ;), 220,000 deer. Apparently that wasn't enough. They are sill all over the place and in the roads. I think we should be able to hunt the damn things into extinction.

I won't agree with hunting to extinction, but thinning the herd is a good idea.

In late October deer can be a big problem around here, Ive hit 3 with the truck over the years, but so far none on the bike. I really watch carefully when on the bike. Ive had 3 run just in front of me a couple of seasons ago.

deer get hit all over Austin and this is a million pop city but lots of deer everywhere. I have deer alert horns on my bike, working so far.

When I lived in Utah, deer were a big threat. Here in AZ, it's elk. I'd hate to think what the outcome of a motorcycle vs elk fight would look like. I won't ride through certain areas of the high country here unless it's broad daylight.
