Not another oil thread!

I just did my first oil change with Kawi 10-40 oil and stock filter. Ya, I know I paid too much but it was easier to get it at the dealer when I picked up my wife's new helmet.

My question is: How soon can I switch to a full synthetic oil?

I will most likely use the Bosch 3300 filter and Mobile1 when the motor is broke in.

I used to rebuild lots of car engines all foreign, and i used to tell customes after 1,000 miles.

If a clue of quality is using Bosch, the better filter is WIX and or napa gold, same thing. I run eiither brand name because it is WIX. I also run Mobile 1 for cars oil when I can find it NOT labled 'EC'. What I have on hand for next time is Mobile 1 V twin.

I have been running the Bosch 3300 oil filter and Mobil 1 full synthetic 10W-40 for about the past 6,000 miles and they have been trouble free miles. Bosch filters are a lot easier for me to locate. I never see Wix filters. Auto Zone carries the Bosch filters as well as the Mobil 1 oil. Wal-Mart also carries the Mobil 1 motorcycle oil. That is where I get my oil. I use the Mobil 1 racing 4T motorcycle oil. Not a lot cheaper than what you pay at the dealer for the Kawasaki oil but I trust Mobil 1.
